What is line boring?

Line boring is a process used to repair worn holes in heavy equipment.

As machines such as excavators and loaders age, the holes that house pins and bushings can become out of shape – they become oval or lose concentricity. Mobile boring restores these holes to their original shape and position – usually without removing the component from the machine.

The process is carried out in the field using portable machines that first overbuild the material by surfacing and then precisely machine the hole. This saves time, money and is a way to extend the life of large machines.

I found a great example of such equipment here: https://borweld.com/wytaczarka-mobilna-mocna-lekka-i-kompaktowa/

Do any of you also do mobile processing or repairs in the field?
