How much does line boring cost?
To assess the cost of line boring, it is necessary to take into account its condition, the type of equipment and the chosen method of repair. However, we can offer an approximate order of prices:

Boring a hole for a pin, bushing, bearing
Description:
Bore a hole to remove the ovality, and then order a bushing from a turner, adapted to the new size of the hole. This method is suitable for cases where the backlash is minimal and there is no need to restore the original size.
Cost:
From 900 zloty per axle in our production. There can be one or more holes per axle.
Advantages:
- Price: the most economical option for repairing damaged holes.
- Speed with parts availability: If the customer already has bushings and pins, the repair process is faster.
Disadvantages:
- Parts selection: bushings and pins must be carefully selected, which can lead to errors.
- Non-original parts: Original parts do not fit, and non-original parts may be of poor quality.
- Construction limitations: Sometimes construction does not allow the use of this method due to insufficient material thickness.
- Process time: After boring, the customer must order the bushings and wait for them to be made.
Boring, surfacing and restoring the original hole size
Description:
First we bore the hole to remove the ovality, then we surfaced the metal layer and bored the hole to the original size.
Cost:
From PLN 1,500 per axis.
Advantages:
- Quick repair: ordering pins and bushings in advance helps speed up the process.
- Use of original parts: Holes are restored to original size, allowing the use of original parts.
- Versatility: It is suitable for all types of openings.
- Reliability: the product is restored to its original state without changing the design.
Disadvantages:
- Cost: The price is higher compared to boring without surfacing.
Why the price “from” 900 and 1500 zloty?
Cost depends on a number of factors, such as the size and accessibility of the holes, difficulty of access and other conditions. For example, small holes require more processing time, and working at heights or in hard-to-reach areas increases costs.

- Holes with a diameter of 30 to 45 mm: PLN 1100
- Holes from 50 to 90 mm in diameter:PLN 900
- Holes from 100 to 200 mm in diameter: PLN 1500
- Holes with a diameter of more than 200 mm: price agreed individually
Example price ranges for hole repair with boring and surfacing:
- Holes with a diameter of 30 to 45 mm: PLN 1,700 per axle
- Holes from 50 to 90 mm in diameter: PLN1500 per axle
- Holes from 100 to 200 mm in diameter: PLN2,500-3,000 per axle
- Holes with a diameter of more than 200 mm: price agreed individually
Example price ranges for hole repair with boring and surfacing:
Additional costs are rare, but may occur in the following cases:
- Additional structures for mounting the boring machine: if additional structures need to be built, the cost may increase.
- Large clearance (> 3 mm): may need to be bored and surfaced several times, increasing material consumption.
- Repair of holes in cast iron: cast iron repair technology requires more time, the cost increases by 200-400 zlotys.
- Assembly and disassembly: removal of old bushings and pins, installation of new ones, adjustment of clearances – PLN 250-300 per connection.
- Access outside Krakow: PLN 1.5 per kilometer if the client is outside the city.
Frequently asked questions
The price of the service includes the repair of one axle. There may be one, two or more holes in one axle, but it will be one axle.
The price on departure and in our service does not change. However, if the machine is not located in Krakow, the cost of transportation and accommodation is added to the cost of services if the work takes more than one day.
In the area of Krakow to the client is free of charge. If the work is to be done outside Krakow then the cost of travel will be 1,5 zl per kilometer in both directions. If from our service to the customer 30km then the cost of travel will be 90 PLN.
